The program, which started with a prayer, hymns and the recitation of Biblical verses, remembered both occasions. The speaker of the day was the chairman of the board of trusties, Mr. John Sagherian. We thank God for all those who worked with & for our graduates. PLANNING FOR THE COMING YEAR

Preparations for the coming school year (2008-09) began on July 4, 2008, as our school’s teaching staff came together in the Arm. Evang. C. E. summer resort (KCHAG). This end-of-the-year last meeting, aimed at giving the teachers a wider view of the work that should be done in any school –with a professional attitude. The day started with a time of worship and a meditation after which the speaker of the day, Mrs. Shaghig Hudaverdian (MA in Educational Psychology - AUB), prepared the platform for further work in the school by introducing the different steps the teacher(s) should follow to make sure a comprehensive lesson plan is prepared. This three-hour two-part very dynamic session was full of discussions and real-life school examples and ended with a plan for a follow-up session in Sept. 2008. The day continued with a lunch break, prepared by the school’s Parents’ Committee, after which we had a free discussion session where teachers took turn to express their concerns about the school and make pratical suggestions.

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

On July 1, 2008, Dr. John Harris Profesor of Education & Director of Special Projects (Samford University, USA) gave a follow-up visit to our school as part of the assessment program introduced to the Evangelical schools in Lebanon by The Association of Evangelical Schools of Lebanon. We appreciate his, as well as his team’s assistance in assessing the work done in our school.

SCHOOL TRIPS - JUNE 24, 2008

Tuesday June 24, 2008, was a day to remember. We thank God that all went as scheduled and well, and the students enjoyed the first day of their vacation with their classmates and teachers. The elementary students headed for the swimming pools at Splash Mountain, where the splashing got splashier as the hours passed –and took a break only for the noon snacks.
The intermediate & secondary students headed to the mountains (950 meters above sea level) to the beautiful Armenian Catholic Monastery of Bzommar. For them, this was a day of fun & education. It started with a tour of the campus –the Church, museum & library of over 80,000 books & manuscript. Then all headed for the adjacent field, where each class, with their homeroom teacher, started the lunch preparation. All were well prepared –from tuna salads to great barbeques & pizzas.
We thank our teachers and wish all –teachers, staff & students a brilliant summer vacation.

KG GRADUATION & ... Ghassan Rahbani

On Fri. June 13, 2008, 18 KG II students graduated from kindergarten. All three KG classes performed on stage. They sang, recited and prayed in Arabic, English & Armenian, and danced to the tunes of Lebanese and Armenian folk music. All these were integrated in one drama whose theme centered around “being content”.
The highlight of the evening was a song recently released in the markets –a song dedicated to the Armenian people- which the KG I & II students performed. The author and singer of “Nahna Hon Min3ich” (We live here), the famous Lebanese Artist, Ghasan Rahbani, honored our students by his presence. In his word to the students and families, he stressed that, the Armenian people should be very proud to be Armenian.
We congratulate our KG students, their parents & families. We also congratulate and highly appreciate our dedicated KG teachers and staff.

CONGRATULATIONS: LEVAM mini football finals

May 17, 2008, 6:30 PM was a very special moment for The Arm. Evang. Shamlian-Tatikian mini football team. It was a long match against a neighbouring school --The Arm. National Sophia-Hagopian Sec. School. The game ended three all. After three penalty shots the score was still to no one's favor. Then, it was the turn of the goal keepers to shoot. We went first and scored, but the opposite team's ball did not pass through, and...thus the above picture...and the victory. Well done and congratulations. To view more pictures.
